All walks will be easy-going & approx 3.5 to 4 miles in length (Unless Stated).Some may include off-road walking & involve the use of stiles. Please wear suitable footwear & bring waterproof protection (raincoat or Umbrella). Walks are free & no need to book just turn up

MONDAY 11th May : 4 Miles easy walking LAWNS VILLAGE TO LOFTHOUSE COUNTRY PARK

  • Depart at 10:30am from : Carr Gate Garden Centre, on the Old Bradford RdA650 - from the M1 exit at J41 take A650 south. Shortly left turning back up Old Bradford Rd to Centre WF2 0SY

 

THURSDAY 14th May 4 miles, hilly mud 3 stiles WOODHALL, EBOR WAY & PADOCK HOUSE LANE Circular

  • Depart at 10:30am from : Home Farm / children play area carpark. From the Colton Park road entrance at brick lodges turn left down hill to car park. LS15 0AE.

  • Depart at 10:30am from : From the Lines Car Park, off Station Rd, Great Preston / Kippax. On the left before the road bridge going towards Great Preston - ½ mile past Kippax Leisure Centre LS25 7LQ.

 

MONDAY 1st June : Flat easy walk 1 stile WATERTON GOLF COURSE & ANGLERS COUNTRY PARK

THURSDAY 4th June : Moderate hill 2 stiles NEW FARNLEY HERITAGE TRAIL

  • Depart at 10.30am from : Lawns Lane, New Farnley from leeds Southern Ring Road (A6110 ) at the roundabout just before Ringways (large Ford garage ) turn up Whitehall Road(A58) in one mile right before large garage sign for Styrin Motors into Village LS12 5DF. Optional visit to Cricket Club.

 

MONDAY 8th June : one slight hill and no stiles TRAIN AWAY DAY TO HOLLINGWORTH LAKE Nr Rochdale

  • Depart by train at 10.26am Manchester Victoria train via Brighouse. from Leeds City Station Buy return tickets to LITTLEBOROUGH. Arrive 11.34 Walking up to Visitor Centre toilets then continuing half round the lake with lunch at the Beach (Fayre & Square pub ) or packup/ cafes.. Leave at 14.15 lake and paths down to Littleborough Rail station. Return 14.53 train, arrive Leeds 16.02. Price with Metro pass £6.60, no pass £16.40 Standard return, £18.10 from Garforth with no Metro pass

 

THURSDAY 11th June No stiles easy walking STANLEY FERRY & CALDER NAVIGATION

  • Depart at 10.30am from : Parking field Ferry Lane, Stanley Through the lights at canal bridge, then sharp right into field parking. WF3 4LT.

 

MONDAY 15th June 1 stile Easy Walking 5 miles 1 short hill FAIRBURN INGS & LEDSTON

  • Depart at 10.30 from : RSPB Nature Reserve, Newton Lane Nr Castleford WF10 2BH £2.50 parking for non RSPB members.

 

THURSDAY 18th June 3.5 miles , medium going THE CHEVIN & CRAG END VIEW

MONDAY 22nd June Easy Walking 4.2 Miles 1 stile POTTERTON & THE COCK BECK

  • Leader : John Martin: Assistant Leader : John Scott
  • Depart at 10.30 from : Potterton Lane end. Directions from Barwick. Turn right at the Maypole and then left on to Potterton Lane going towards A64. At T junction turn right (no through road ) bearing left to dead end next to A64. Arriving from A64 direction turn right before Fox & Grapes into Kiddal Lane and at junction carry straight forward, don't turn right to Barwick LS15 5NJ .

 

THURSDAY 25th June 4 miles , medium going BARDSEY & HETCHEL WOOD

  • Depart at 10.30 from. The New Inn, Wetherby Rd. Scarcroft, LS14 3AT. If not taking a meal or drink after the walk please, park outside in lane.

 

MONDAY 29th June Easy walking METHLEY MILLENIUM WALK

  • Depart at 10:30am from : Station Rd. Methley. From the A639, turn down Church Lane, pass under railway bridge. Take first left into Mickletown Road, then second left at roundabout by Miners Memorial, continue and park near canal entrance LS26 9HY.
