Labour and Tories Continue to Squabble over Prison Proposals
|
Despite repeated requests from local Residents and Community Associations Labour and Tory elected representatives continue to score political points off each other as the prospect of the unwanted prison being built in the community grows ever larger. Local residents feel it is time for Mr Burgon to tell the PM and the Prisons Minister that if Labour want to retain control of the Elmet constituency they need to act before the General Election. Similarly Councillor Millard and the other Conservative Councillors in the area must ensure that the Tory alliance controlled Leeds City Council act decisively to stop the Prison Service’s plans from being realised. If they are unable/unwilling to do this they too should beware when council elections come round.
