Regulars at the Plough Inn in Burton Salmon donated over 3000 pounds to Children in Need at a recent fundraising event.David and Melanie Hirst organised a casino night and auction at their pub and raise 3,116 pounds for the childrens charity.
2007-11-10Motorcyclist Airlifted to Hospital
A motorcyclist who crashed on the A162 between Burton Salmon and South Milford was airlifted to hospital with serious head injuries. The road was closed for several hours. Witnesses should contact the police on 0845 6060274.
2005-01-05Village Bus to Selby Market Secured
The Monday bus service from Burton Salmon and Hillam to Selby market has been made permanent. Selby and York Rural Transport Partnership have granted Oz Travel permission to run the service permanently on market day. Councillor Gillian Ivey said the route was well used and would boost trade at Selby Market.
